The Honest Approach
Always Check the Label First
Every piece we make ships with a small care label sewn inside. The label tells you exactly how to care for that specific garment — based on the fabric, the dye, and the finish. Always follow the label first. The notes below are general guidance for when the label feels unclear.
In Short
Three Simple Rules
When in doubt
Dry clean
Tailored pieces, structured jackets, suiting, wool, silk and cashmere are safest with a trusted dry cleaner. Mention the fabric when you drop it off.
If hand-washable
Cool water, gentle
Cotton, linen, and jersey can be hand-washed in cool water with mild detergent. Do not wring. Lay flat to dry, away from direct sun.
Storage
Hang or fold
Hang structured pieces (jackets, coats) on a wide hanger. Fold knits to keep their shape. Keep away from damp and direct sunlight.
A Few Notes
From Our Studio
Stains
Address stains as soon as you can. Blot — never rub. For oil-based stains, take it to a dry cleaner promptly. For water-based stains, cool water and a gentle dab usually helps.
Wear Between Cleans
You do not need to wash a piece after every wear. Air it out overnight, brush gently if needed, and only clean when actually soiled. Less washing = longer life.
Embroidery & Decals
Pieces with embroidery, prints, or decal work should be turned inside out before any wash, and never tumble-dried. Iron only on the reverse side, on low heat.
Ironing
Always iron at the lowest heat that works. For delicate fabrics, use a press cloth between the iron and the garment. When unsure, steaming is safer than ironing.
